marketing leader -
driving expansion
DRIVEN BY DELIVERING REAL AND LASTING RESULTS WHERE PEOPLE GROW ALONGSIDE THE BUSINESS
WHAT’S IN ME FOR YOU?
I am a commercially savvy marketing leader. I like to get things growing by combining brand development in home markets and scaling products in international markets. I do this through collaborative leadership like I did for Arla, Tulip, Danish Crown, & MFA.
I am motivated by boosting results through new concepts (Burger Boost), market access (Germany & China) and high team engagement (85). My former employees and leaders tells me that I lead with integrity, clear goals and a “go-do” mindset.
I bring more than 20 years of experience in making strategies become tangible assets across Europe (Denmark, Germany, Italy, Greece) and Asia (China, Hong Kong).
I accelerate commercial performance and reduce complexity. This is because I am motivated by real results and strengthening marketing impact which brings focus on what really matters. And for companies it cuts cost and retain momentum. A relevant leader-principle to companies that wants to stand out and outperform competition.
The leadership team who include me in their organisation will add a collaborative, energetic leader who builds momentum, strengthens teams, and delivers real and lasting, customer-centered business results.
“I am not driving marketing merely as creativity, visibility and communication — but marketing as a business-driving function”
…and several other food concepts and brands.
I feel particularly proud of the invention of burger boost. It was a brand that we build from scratch in 2020 and the first strong brand (37% consumer awareness) in beefburgers in Denmark. The team and I worked hard to be on top of demand creation and scaling of the brand internationally. And customers were extremely positive and involving. 2 times in my career have I been part of a very successful product launch that generated 9 digit numbers in DKK-turnover. Boost in Denmark and Gourmetti in Germany. I am always proud to have been part of something significant that changed the market.

“Jacob er utrolig behagelig at samarbejde med - både skarp, analytisk og inspirerende, og samtidig har han masser af lune, nærvær og ordentlighed”

stand out by reducing complexity
If you want to grow your business your brand have to stand out. It’s not really deeply rooted in the Danish culture but then again my team and I operated in Europe and Asia. Whether emotional benefits or functional attributes you only have one chance to convince your customer and few seconds to pursuade the consumer that your product and brand will become “the next big thing”. The route for me has been through demand creation and reducing marketing complexity to focus on what really matters.
Getting your priorities right and defining the right time to launch, spend your budget and earn your profit is an art.
“Han er åben, ærlig og ligefrem – god til at finde løsninger og se tingene fra flere vinkler, hvilket jeg sætter stor pris på hos en god samarbejdspartner”

How I lead
I give the team freedom to do the job independently and to unfold their own ideas. It creates a whole different commitment and the entire team assumes responsibility. I think that everyone have something to contribute with to any challenge. If you make an effort I will find a positive outcome and praise it no matter the size of the result. Because you have to grow your skills to be able to take an even bigger challenge next. Thats what develops talent and grows business.
-
Collaboration start with trust in each other. To work closely together and take advantage of synergies in a team. Trust is the basic feeling that must be present. To build trust be curious.
-
Small and great efforts must be acknowledged. If we cheer each other it’s visible where important skills are hidden.
-
Take responsibility for yourself and what you do. Be aware of how your own actions might change things for others and your surroundings
-
Learn from your experience, gain knowledge from what you see and develop a platform to grow as a person. Grow with integrity.
“Jacob er nysgerrig på sine medmennesker (og sig selv), og er derfor en moderne leder, som ikke bare tør, men værdsætter, at få sat ord på det, som mange andre kalder "den svære samtale"”
Morten Schebye, Q10
During my career I have found it particularly rewarding to work with young professionals. Early in my own career I myself had the priviledge of executives that helped me developing a career.
Since then I have dedicated part of my spare time to mentoring young professionals. To help them with assignments, professional challenges or advice. I even employed some for a period to give them the opportunity to gain experience and build their skills.
Not only do I sit back with the feeling that I gave something back to society and the next generation but I also used the curious talks with students or graduates (political and commercial masters) to strengthen my cultural awareness and leadership.
I am grateful and thank the follwing talents for their engagement: Ninna, Denmark. Clementina, Uruguay. Hannah, Germany. Emil, Denmark, Wang Yuan, China.
